We'll see you soon in heaven.
"For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better."
Philippians 1:21-23

Christy Hae-Jin Kang (67) was born in Seoul, Korea March 11, 1949 to pastor Do-soon Kang and Hyun-Sang Il. She was the eldest of three. Due to the Korean War, her early years were filled with turmoil. However, that didn't stop her from pursuing her passion in entrepreneurship even when Korea was strongly against industrially successful women. Her hobby was to travel and she had always dreamed of achieving her goals in America.

"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; "
Philippians 3:20
A Fulfilled Dream.

In 1975, that dream was fulfilled – Christy arrived to America. She embarked on a journey which led to multiple degrees: business, cosmetology, and theology all with high honors.

A Kindred Spirit.

As decorated as she was, she was also a compassionate, faithful, and loving friend, sister, and aunt.

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?'"
John 11:25-26
A Servant's Heart.
She was a faithful prayer warrior always keeping others before herself. She faithfully served the youth with Bible lessons.
"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39
On January 12, 2017, Christy passed away suddenly. Although we are all grieving for her, Christy's winning smile and loving spirit will never be forgotten. What we'll all remember most about her was her great love for our Lord and her genuine concern for others and their eternal well being. Though many may not have been aware of it, Christy was always praying for others. We thank God for the many lives Christy touched and the many more who are now rejoicing with her in Glory.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing."
2 Timothy 4:7-8
